Below you will find a list of improvements of the main version of our software 'TwoNav'. In order to purchase or upgrade to this version you only need to get access to the 'TwoNav' section of our website. Most notable changes and improvements are divided into the following agrupations:

GENERAL NEW FEATURES

OpenGL technology

CompeGPS has taken a further step by using OpenGL graphic processors.

From now on, all graphic contents of TwoNav software are run using this technology if technically supported by the system. OpenGL technology will provide better fluency for general management of the application, specifically while working with maps and lists of items. This improvements only affect platforms with graphic accelerators such as iPhone and Android.

Furthermore, this new development allows the users to enjoy a real 3D view on Android.
 

 

New data fields
 

'Mean moving speed', average of all speeds above the minimum speed movement. (‘Mean speed' stands for the average of all speeds)   ‘Pace’, speed in minute/kilometer.

 

Downloads from CompeGPS server

When using TwoNav Tablet, by selecting ‘Settings > System > Download maps’ you will be able to download from CompeGPS’ on-line server radars alerts as well as default maps such as Belgium, France, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Italy, USA, Great Britain...

 

Start/Stop default navigation

By clicking ‘Start/Stop’ button ( ) you are able to start navigating: once clicked, you are able to select any destination from ‘Navigate...’ menu.
 

Note: In order to get access to this option easily, it is highly recommended to add ‘Start/Stop’ button at the toolbar: enable the command from ‘Settings > Display > Toolbar’.

In case you want to stop the navigation that you are running:
 

Select the same button which allowed you to start navigating. Once navigation has been stopped, the button will turn into a different icon ( ).   Select ‘Navigate... > Stop Navigation’.

 

Bluetooth in Delta

Delta allows you to derive audio connection between TwoNav and a bluetooth headset. By selecting ‘Settings > System > Bluetooth’ you will be able to enable/disable this function as well as scan and detect bluetooth receptors.

If you press 'on/off' button for 10 seconds, the device will be reseted.

 

Show/Hide on-screen zoom function

By selecting ‘Settings > System > Advanced > Hide zoom buttons’ you will be able to show or hide on-screen zoom+/zoom- buttons which are located at map’s visualization window.

 

Update operating system for Sportiva/Sportiva+ has been improved

Among other functions this new updating package of OS will solve bugs of older versions such as white screen problems, compatibility with Navionics maps, as well as other minor issues... During the process it also updates Eboot.

TRACKS NEW FEATURES

Indications with rich-formatted text (e-Roadbook, Geocaching & Routes)

Text indications for waypoints,  roadbooks, geochaching, routes as well as attached designed documents can be displayed on-screen using certain HTML-formatted styles.
 

You only need to upload HTML files which have been edited and formatted to the storage unit of your device. After that, each HTML file containing styled text has to be associated to the corresponding waypoint of the route (‘Properties > Associated’).
 

Only texts with a minimum format can be associated, although not all HTML tags are supported, the user will be able to customize his texts using these properties:

 

Users using Land/Air will only need to attach the HTML-formatted text by clicking at ‘Properties > Associated’ of the right waypoint. Once attached, select ‘send to GPS’ option to start the transfer.

 

Roadbook preview

When loading a roadbook, you can display an overview look of the route, by selecting ‘Settings > System > Advanced’ you will be able to enable/disable this function.

 

 

WAYPOINTS NEW FEATURES

Associate screenshot to waypoint

If ‘Settings > System > Advanced > Screenshot creates WPT’ is enabled, a waypoint with an associated image will be created each time a screenshot is made (the picture will be equally save at ‘data’ folder).

 

Waypoint icon position

The on-screen presentation of waypoints can be customized from ‘Settings > Display > Labels > WPT icon position’. Possible icon positions are:

Centered and without background (third example) Centered (second example) Elevated (first example)

 

 

MAPS NEW FEATURES

Remote maps in cache

When a remote (internet) map is opened, downloaded sections will be kept locally in a temporal folder so they can be accessed again with no need to download them again or without need of internet connection.

In order to apply this function, ‘Cache remote maps’ option of ‘Advanced’ menu must be enabled.
 

The destination folder where map portions are automatically saved (cache), as well as maximum memory of the folder can be selected from the same menu. In case the capacity of the folder is exceeded, older map sections will be deleted.

 

Navionics compatibility with Sportiva/Sportiva+

TwoNav Sportiva and TwoNav Sportiva+ are fully compatible with Navionics marine charts (*.NV2 files). The user only needs to update the operating system of the device, At FAQs section of www.compegps.com you will find more information on how to update the operating system: How to update Sportiva/Sportiva+'s operating system?.

 

Seabed textures

Visualization of seabed areas can be switch to enable/disable from ‘Settings > Advanced > Seabed areas (Navionics)’. By applying this option, only depth contours are displayed.

 

 

MINOR CHANGES

 

• Work with remote maps even without internet connection is possible if a map section is saved at cache memory.
• Opened associated files are automatically closed when the user is leaving the waypoint radius.
• OpenGL technology is being used in order to improve and accelerate TwoNav usability.
• In order to display easily the contextual menu for waypoints, routes and tracks, a larger sensitive area has been implemented.
• Improved reproduction when working with associated files of waypoints and track points (texts, images, sounds, videos...).
• The visibility of several on-screen buttons is better (zoom+, zoom-, recenter, radar page)
• The size of sliders at status bars is bigger (‘Status > Volume’).
• No overlapping texts are displayed for large waypoint titles and large Infonext texts.
• When using on-road mode, ‘distance before re-calculate’ data field has a new option: ‘Never’ (‘Settings > Navigation > Autoroute > Recalculate’).
• Qwerty keyboard is the default one instead of Abcdef keyboard. (Changeable from ‘Settings > System > Advanced’).
• By default lower-case letters are used to enter passwords.
• A legal license information window is displayed at ‘Settings > System > About > Credits’.
  
   
• Sportiva/Sportiva+: Fatal error due to lack free memory is solved by releasing space of the free memory that has been already used.
  
   
• iPhone/iPad: Information about the size of the product is displayed during the purchase process.
• iPhone/iPad: A new pop up message is displayed in order to postpone the download in case not to have Wi-fi connection enabled.
  
   
• Android: In order to have more space for remote maps in cache, ‘Temp’ folder is moved to ‘TwoNavData’.

 

 

SOLVED BUGS

 

• ‘Open image’ command has been fixed and now opens images properly (Data > Open > Images).
• DropBox: Internet connection errors when uploading files have been solved.
• ‘Mark and edit WPT’ command does not fail when cancelled.
• Bad behaviour of ‘Time in movement’ and ‘Stopped time’ fields has been corrected.
• Bad behaviour of Tool bar when advanced mode is enabled has been corrected.
• Lack of Hint information when all options are selected is solved.
• The refresh of map list using the contextual menu is no longer done exclusively in Spanish language.
• BTRK and BWPT file formats have been added to the open file menu (‘Data > Open > Type’).
• Brightness is automatically decreased in night mode.
• When marine mode is enabled, default units for ‘Distance to Next’, ‘Deviation from route’ and ‘Distance Virtual Coach’ have been changed to ‘nm’.
• When marine mode is enabled, TwoNav takes the last waypoint as reference when adding waypoint to route by 'bearing and distance'.
• Create waypoints on Navionics maps from the contextual menu is now possible when marine mode is enabled.
• Solved the navigation problem which made impossible to choose any POI of a self-created MPVF (‘Navigate > POI > By location > By map’).

• Sportiva/Sportiva+: Alarm (beep sound) works correctly when deviation from route.
• Sportiva/Sportiva+: The calibration plugin for Navionics maps has been regenerated in order to avoid calibration errors.
• Sportiva/Sportiva+: Indication of ‘Full battery charged’ is shown once the recharge has ended.
  
   
• Delta: Mute button at the top right side of the main screen is working correctly.
