Below you will find a list of improvements of the main version of our softwares 'Land'/'Air'. In order to purchase or upgrade to this version you only need to get access to 'Land' or 'Air' sections of our website. Most notable changes and improvements are divided into the following agrupations:

GENERAL NEW FEATURES

 

'Amigos': Social network tool integrated in Land/Air

 
'Amigos' is a location-aware function developed by CompeGPS allowing you to view the current location of your contacts on the map in real time (and viceversa). This social network section is included by default in Land/Air. In order to enable this function select:

‘Main bar > Amigos (button)’                ‘Data tree > Amigos’

 

 

With 'Amigos' you will get the chance to interact with friends while using your favourite application:

 

Add contacts to your list of friends: Add your friends to your list of contacts using either their e-mail address or mobile phone number.   Visualization of your contacts on the map : See on the map the actual position of your contacts in real time as they move.   Chat with your contacts Send a general message to all your contacts   Set the interval of data refreshing automatically (movements on the map will be more constant as interval refresh is lower).   Follow in real time the exact location of your friends on the map (contextual menu at friend's profile and select 'Anchor here')   Set the information displayed to your contacts (see position on the map, distance from each of your contacts...).   Customize your own profile: Set your nickname, a short description about yourself, a photo... all this information will be displayed at the list of contacts of users.   Launch ‘Amigos‘ every time you start Land/Air.   ...

In order to disconnect 'Amigos' open the contextual menu on your profile name and press "Unregister":

Select 'Unlink this device' if you want to log out the session on your current device.   Select 'Delete user account' if you want to completely eliminate your "Amigos" account.

 

To start using 'Amigos', the you won't need to pay any extra complement, by default this tool is included as part of any Land/Air license (as from 7.4). Users having an older version not supporting 'Amigos' can update Land/Air to the current version


Note: 'Amigos' function for Land/Air has been conceived as a platform to specially check the current location of those contacts that use 'Amigos' in their mobile phones (usually, users who use 'Amigos' in Land/Air are said to be in a fixed position although Land/Air can also transmit current position in movement). 'Amigos' function is currently in BETA phase.

Share your tracks

 

 

Get the chance to share tracks with your contacts. Steps to reproduce:

 

Open your track: 'Main bar > Tracks > Open track'   Open the contextual menu on the track > Share > myTwoNav     To share your tracks, you must be registered.     Fill in the form with the most relevant data of the track and click “Send” to see the track report of this track.   With the track report opened, you will be able to:     > Share it on social networks (Facebook and Twitter) > Print the track report > Send it by e-mail to any contact > Download the file

 
At the same time that you share the track report with your contacts, the file is also uploaded to  

myTwoNav allows you to manage all your tracks previously uploaded (check their track report with detailed information, download files...), but also to easily manage and install your product licenses. myTwoNav is accessible:

Download tracks from most relevant providers
 

The section 'On-line files' contains data available not in computer nor in connected devices but in the internet allowing you to open and work with on-line contents (maps, tracks,...) located on external online servers such as CompeGPS servers, Dropbox and on-line providers.

New on-line providers have been add:

In order to use this function, reproduce the following steps:

Center the map where you want to get elements.   Select 'Data tree > On-line files' (Land/Air will look for available content near to your current position)   In case any element near your position is found, basic information related to these element will be presented in the 2nd line right after the name of the item. > 'Properties' button: To check basic properties of the item before downloading the file (file name, short description, file size, author, duration, total distance...).   > 'Open item' button: To download and center the element (element can also be automatically centered by double-clicking on it from 'on-line files').

 

Note: Remember that you can easily send the downloaded elements to any device (Android, GPS TwoNav...) by doing: right click on the element > Send to > your device.
 
 

 

New values to sort lists of elements

 

Lists of waypoints and tracks can be ordered according to the preferences of the user (even order items manually), select 'Sort by' (contextual menu on the element) and choose the value to order:
 

In case default value is set, manual order cannot be used (should be selected: 'Sort by > None'). Additionally, when 'Sort by... > Proximity' is pressed, Land/Air takes the current position of the user as reference to calculate the proximity. If an anchored position has been fixed, that one will be taken as reference point.

 
  
 

Improvements in IMG/MP import
 

Import process of maps in MP and IMG formats has been significatly improved and some bugs solved. In addition, specific feature to import profile files has been included in 'Main Menu > Options > Maps', so XML files with layer configuration information can be used.

 

 

Note: In case to be used in TwoNav, map needs to be saved as *.MPVF file. 
 
 
 
 

Dropbox: logout session

 

When you finish working with your personal Dropbox account, it is highly recommended to logout the session. This act will prevent other users to have access to your personal files, specially if Land/Air is being used by other users.

 

 

 

Data tree: Different modes to display a list of elements
 

Closed list   Opened list with no more than 10 elements displayed: expand the list by clicking at... > Upper arrow of the category group   > Bottom bar of the list Fully opened list: showing all its elements

myTwoNav (www.mytwonav.com) is the new customer area of CompeGPS allowing you to:

Edit customer profile Manage and install your products on devices (CompeGPS Downloader) Validate products included in promotional codes Publish and manage your tracks at your personal profile as well as in social networks (Facebook/Twitter)

TRACKS NEW FEATURES

 

Track files with associated files
 

Until now, files could only be associated to points of tracks. Now, files can also be associated to any track file (files containing points of tracks): Select the track file > Properties > Associated.

 

 

 

MAPS NEW FEATURES

 

Search POIs and geocodes on V-Maps

 

By using the searching engine window of Land, the user is able to enter any information and easily find the location on loaded maps.

 

Search for...: Points of interest (POIs) Exact street locations/cities (geocodes)

 

This feature will search your request at your current position (or even at any location) among all vectorial maps load in the memory.
 

 
 

New projections and datums available
 

Projections: Projection Portugal TM. Projections for New Zealand. Projection Australia VICGRID66 and VICGRID94. Projection Poland CS92. Projections CC42, CC43, CC44, CC45, CC46, CC47, CC48, CC49 and CC50.   Datums: Datum RGF93 Reseau_Geodesique_Francais_1993. Datum New Zealand Geodetic 2000. GEOCACHING NEW FEATURES

 

Search for geocaches at your current position

 

To easily find geocaches near your current position Land offers the possibility to search for them inside the huge database of www.geocaching.com (external on-line provider).
 
In order to use this function, reproduce the following steps:

Center the map where you want to get geocaches. Select 'Main bar > Search geocaches for current position' (Land will look for available content near to your current position) www.geocaching.com will be launched and available geocaches near your position will be listed.

 

Note: Remember that you can easily send the downloaded elements to any device (Android, GPS TwoNav...) by doing: right click on the element > Send to > your device.

 
 
  
 

MINOR CHANGES

• In addition to the existing buttons 'Undo' and 'Redo', keyboard shortcuts for both commonly used functions have been added:
  • Undo >>> Press 'Ctrl + Z'
  • Redo >>> Press 'Ctrl + Y'

     

• Automatic checkout of files is done after updating TwoNav on personal devices, this will avoid wrong update processes.
• 'Minimum moving speed' has been unified for Land/Air and TwoNav in all vehicles to avoid confusion with distance calculations.
• 2nd line information is also displayed for on-line files (data tree section).
• Accessibility to 'show tiles layout' function has been improved (only available for mosaic maps).
• Default map cache has been changed from 80 MB to 250 MB.
• When using *.CDEM maps, double click zooms in.
• A graph button has been added to the distance measure tool.
• In case to anchor a waypoint, the icon representing the waypoint is replaced by anchor icon (avoiding to display two icons at the same location).
• An internet URL (e.g.: www.compegps.com) can also be associated to elements such as tracks and waypoints. All you have to do is select the URL from the internet browser and drag it to the 'associated' section of the element.

   

  
   

• Some buttons of the tool bar have been rearranged (add: 'Amigos', removed: 'CompeGPS trackserver', 'Connect GPS', 'Connect second GPS', 'Start CompeGPS Broadcast' and 'Download track'). Remember that you can always customize the tool bar according to your own needs from 'File > Options > Keys & Buttons'.
• By default, when Land/Air is installed, CompeGPS Downloader is also installed. With CompeGPS Downloader you will be able to automatically install maps on your devices (GPS, iPhone/iPad, Android, PC...). 
   

Note: You can disable the automatic installation of CompeGPS Downloader at the beginning of the installation process of Land/Air.

• When restarting the application, Land/Air remembers and shows which fields were expanded in 'properties' section after closing the application.
   

 

SOLVED BUGS

 

• Display problems when maximizing graph windows have been solved.
• The altitude of a self-created track is correct if real altitude level is negative.
• If route's waypoints are unfoldered, new created waypoints are also shown at data tree list.
• All waypoints are listed when creating a route from waypoints list ('contextual menu of a route > List of WPT of the route').
• Maps made up of tiles (e.g. Sweden Topo Mosaic) are properly activated when sending tiles from Land/Air to external devices.
• While navigating a track, Land/Air is no longer hanging when zooming in a track from 'trash' folder.
• Access Violation while editing multileg tracks.
• Error when sending tiles from Land's data tree to iPhone/iPad devices.
• Zoom level indication has been fixed.
• *.JPG image attachments are correctly saved on *BTRK files.
• Allow the usage of subfolders to save photos.
• Some UTM coordinates show the right zone.
• No problems to zoom in/out *.ECW maps with 3D reliefs in 3D+ mode. 
• Lists of roadbooks fields are presented alphabetically.
• Multiselction delete works in data tree.
